IMO the problem of this game is the budget, because it has some good ideas and the fmv are pretty good.
The 99% of the reviewers misunderstood this game.
They wrote reviews like "A survival horror game. In which you can die in three places."
Now, tell me, how the fuck can this game be a survival horror? What in the whole game implies "survival"?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that michigan is a masterpiece or even that is a good game (because it isn't, expecially in the pal version that cut out almost everything was a little fun and added an english dub that was simply horrible), but the average gamer can't figure out a horror game that is not survival, so discards michigan without even try to understeand it.
I have to say that the game has a few very good dialogues, like the one of the scientist who created the biovirus, and the gameplay wasn't so bad. At least compared to the other GHM games.
The plot was obviously a satire of the Horror B-Movies, so if you are not so stupid to think that this game takes itself seriously, you can say that even the plot is not so bad. Well, it IS bad, but it is like that intentionally.
The problem is the budget. The graphics really sucks, and during the dialogues every character does the same fuckin' moves constantly.
The ambients are really bald and the puzzles are really boring, and the monsters are very stupid too, they noteven know what "I.A." means.
In conclusion, IMO this could be a great horror game if they had have more budget. The actual game is a paper bag full of shit with the title "michigan" wrote on it, but the bases are not wrong imo.
